Fact Hub Myanmar is a youth-led digital publishing platform for science education and fact-based communication. We are looking for volunteers who write, edit, design, verify, build, and organize — and who care about what's true more than who was right.
Since the 2021 coup, targeted fake news has risen sharply. Independent media has been suppressed, the dominant social platform blocked, and the vacuum has filled with propaganda and financially-motivated disinformation. Generations of a restricted education system have produced, in the founders' own words, more graduates than truly educated individuals.
We started because somebody had to — and because the people most affected by the information crisis are also the people best positioned to push back against it. Three and a half years in, the platform has published roughly 400 articles and fact-checks, reached tens of thousands of readers, and built a network of volunteers across writing, editing, design, data, and research.
Adhering to accuracy and integrity in a state that controls narratives is, whether one frames it that way or not, an act of resistance. Operationally. Every edit, every citation, every revision loop.

You tell us what you're good at. We match you to a board and team — most new volunteers land under the CRE team first.
You get a @facthubmm.org address and access to Telegram, Google Workspace, and Notion. Training is real and provided regardless of experience.
Editorial volunteers work through the WMS: draft → peer review → fact-check → section edit → copy-edit → publish. Every piece cycles through.
No fixed term. You compound skills, networks, and practical experience; you leave when it stops making sense to stay.
Editorial discussions can run late into the night. When a decision needs thorough examination, we examine it thoroughly — which sometimes means the meeting doesn't end when the schedule says it should.
Volunteers describe us as organized and methodical. We are not a loose collective. Strong operational policies and systematic governance hold a young team together. When people hit difficulties, the system for it is real — team expertise, organizational resources, peer support.
Financial resources are limited. Pretend otherwise and you'll be disappointed. Knowledge development, professional experience, and resource sharing are substantial. Recently: volunteers collaborated to translate philosophical works into Myanmar and published them as mental health resources after the earthquake.
People who value quality over convenience, find meaning in contributing to intellectual development in their community, and want challenging work that believes in its mission.
People who want casual, unstructured participation with no expectations. That is not what this is.
Editorial integrity is non-negotiable. Confidentiality is taken seriously. Discrimination is prohibited. Accountability is progressive — you get chances; you don't get infinite chances.
Specific roles vary by recruitment round. You won't fill a form and be slotted into a title. We'll read what you sent and write back — within one business day for team inquiries, 24 hours for board emails.
